The NIC works to advance the fraternal movement through advocacy, collaboration, and education. These educational offerings reach a cross-section of stakeholders in the fraternal movement.
Our educational programs like UIFI, IMPACT and Futures Quest have a long history of providing innovative learning experiences that provide students with the motivation, skills and awareness to elevate their chapters, councils, and communities. Interfraternity Council Officers can attend leading educational training at IFC Academy. The NIC Staff also makes a point of providing ongoing training to students online, at regional leadership programs, and through campus-based consultations.
Higher Educational Partners
While the IFC Academy program has historically addressed the needs and skills of IFC Officers, the NIC has focused time and attention on providing equal education to IFC Advisors that attend this program. Many of our higher education partners facilitate educational programs like UIFI and IMPACT. Facilitation of programs is a great opportunity for professional development and recommitment to fraternal values. The NIC is also a member of the Fraternity & Sorority Coalition Assessment Project. The NIC also has a presence at a variety of higher education related conferences where we lead educational sessions.
The Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates is held for member fraternities where the business of the Conference is conducted. In conjunction with this meeting, the NIC provides educational pre-conference sessions, symposia, and shares the latest trends/best practices that are impacting the health of the fraternal movement. The NIC’s recognition programs, including NIC Gold Medal, Silver Medal, Laurel Wreath and Awards of Distinctions, showcase the best examples of “fraternity done right.” The NIC staff regularly leads training of staff and volunteers at conventions, board meetings, online and at other fraternal conferences.
Members of the NICF participate in programs that advance the sophistication and proficiency of fraternal foundations by fostering exceptional educational initiatives, operational standards, and industry collaboration. This includes the annual THE Foundations Seminar, Institute for Greek Advancement, and Brown Bag Programs.
