NIC Staff Change
After four years at the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) and NIC Foundation (NICF), Benjamin Pendry will depart June 30, 2011.
"Ben has been very effective in building relationships within the NIC's multiple constituencies. Through his work he has also advanced NIC Standards compliance at the campus and national level.," said Pete Smithhisler, CEO and president of the NIC. "Ben has also provided leadership for the NIC Foundation and helped the organization to reach new levels of success. On behalf of the NIC and NICF board of directors we wish Ben the best and thank him for his service to the interfraternal movement."
During his tenure with the NIC, Pendry coordinated the NIC's response to campus relationship issues, managed the IFC Academy, facilitated educational programs, and provided day to day leadership for the NIC Foundation and the industry leading Foundations Seminar.
Pendry has accepted a professional position with the Sigma Chi Foundation as the organizations first White Cross Trust Officer. He is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and a graduate of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. He and his wife Jenna will continue to reside in Carmel, IN.
The NIC will immediately begin a search process to fill the positions of Director of Public Policy and Director of Fraternity Advancement. Complete job descriptions will be available at nicindy.org.
The NIC was founded in 1909, and is the trade association representing International and National Men's Fraternities. Through advocacy, collaboration, and education, the NIC works to ensure that fraternities can operate in an environment conducive to their success.
