Golfers Finish High in Two Weekend Tourneys
PGA Tour's The Barclays in Edison, New Jersey, cancelled its final round because of Hurricane Irene's arrival so play was limited to 54 holes. Tying for third place with a 16 under total of 197 was Brandt Snedeker, a member of Kappa Alpha Order from Vanderbilt, who carded the tournament's low round of 61 on the last day. His blazing finish earned him $464,000. At the Champions Tour Boeing Classic at Snoqualmie, Washington, Bob Gilder, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon from Arizona State, tied for fifth place (209 over three rounds) and won $88,000.
