August 8th: Greek Pro Golfers Play Well Over the Weekend
Tying for second place and winnings of $665,000 at the PGA Tour's Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio was 2011's leading Greek pro player Luke Donald, a Sigma Chi from Northwestern University. Also earning nice paychecks were Bo Van Pelt (Sigma Chi at Oklahoma State University), who won $75,250, and Brandt Snedeker (Kappa Alpha Order at Vanderbilt University), who added $64,500 to his money total for 2011. At the Champions Tour 3M Championship in Blaine, Minnesota, Tom Watson (Alpha Sigma Phi at Stanford University) tied for sixth place ($66,500) while Hale Irwin (Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Colorado) tied for eighth place ($40,056).
