The North-American Interfraternity Conference invites candidates to submit an application for the Director of Fraternity Advancement Position.  The director’s position will concentrate on advancing the growth of the fraternity movement through project based initiatives.  This dynamic position will have significant interaction with the rest of the NIC professional staff position. The Director of Fraternity Advancement will be based at the NIC headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. 

 

Position Announcement - Director of Fraternity Advancement

The North-American Interfraternity Conference invites candidates to submit an application for the Director of Fraternity Advancement Position.  The director's position will concentrate on advancing the growth of the fraternity movement through project based initiatives.   This dynamic position will have significant interaction with the rest of the NIC professional staff position. The Director of Fraternity Advancement will be based at the NIC headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.  The expectations of the director include;

  • Engagement and education of community stakeholders regarding NIC Standards, protocols, and resources to advance the effectiveness and success of NIC member fraternities.
  • Coordination of the annual IFC Academy - A national program focused on enhancing effectiveness of campus interfraternity councils.
  • Management of the NIC Recognition Programs - promotion and logistical support for the NIC Gold Medal, Silver Medal, Laurel Wreath Award, and NIC Awards of Distinction,
  • Work with the NIC Director of Public Policy to collect NIC Standards compliance certification data. 
  • Resource development and support for interfraternity council's including webinars, IFC document review, daily interaction and problem-solving, local, regional, and national programs, among other IFC focused assignments.
  • Management  of the social and digital media efforts of the NIC including media monitoring, facebook, twitter, youtube, flicker, and additional web-based initiatives.    Leveraging these same tools to advance the NIC message and brand.

Qualifications-

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, masters preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Understanding of a wide variety of today's social media and its effective use required.
  • The ability to facilitate educational programs is highly valued. The director will have the opportunity to facilitate number of programs for the NIC such as UIFI, Futures Quest, IMPACT, and other specialized programs.
  • Fraternity/Sorority membership is not required, however a commitment to the ideals and purpose of fraternities is expected.
  • Willingness to travel (including weekends)

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes employer-paid health insurance and a very competitive benefits package.  Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  Candidates should submit a letter of application (specifically detailing interest in working at the NIC), current resume, salary requirements and names and contact information for at least three professional references.  Start date is as soon as possible, but no later than June 15, 2011.
