Former NIC Executive Vice President Jon Williamson is recognized by Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity for his record interfraternal service.
The Creed of Phi Kappa Psi states, "I believe that to all I meet, wherever I go, I represent not only Phi Kappa Psi, but indeed the spirit of all fraternities."
Ralph "Dud" Daniel, Arizona Alpha '47, Executive Director Emeritus of Phi Kappa Psi and past president of the Fraternity Executives Association has been a beacon of interfraternalism for more than 60 years. He knows that the success of Phi Psi is dependent upon the successes of its interfraternal friends. It is in Dud's honor that Phi Kappa Psi presents the Ralph D. Daniel Award for Interfraternal Excellence.
Jon Williamson was initiated into Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at the University of Maryland. He then received his Masters degree from Houston Baptist and began his service in the Army, which included various assignments including the Secret Service and 1 year in the Republic of South Vietnam.
In 1999, Jon decided to change his career path and give back to the fraternal movement that he valued so much. He was hired to be Executive Vice President of the North-American Interfraternity Conference, the trade association representing 73 International and National Men's Fraternities. During his eight years in this position, Jon led many significant initiatives, including the adoption and implementation of the NIC Standards and the beginning of the Coalition Assessment Project.
Due to Jon's leadership in this position, the NIC was able to enjoy many successes which included growing the NIC membership to its largest amount in their 100 year history, strategically lobbying on the Hill in Washington DC to voice Greek organization issues, and streamlined general operations of the NIC office to ensure a strong existence of the NIC for many years to come.
Jon and Laura Williamson are proud parents of fraternity men. Robb and Rick are members of Lambda Chi Alpha. Their son Chris is a proud member of Phi Kappa Psi.
