NIC ANNOUNCES STAFF POSITION FOCUSED ON MEMBER SERVICE
Ward-Bopp to depart NIC for National Leadership Position, NIC announces staff position focused on Member Services.
The North-American Interfraternity Conference invites candidates to submit an application for the Director of Member Services position. The director's role concentrates on enhancing the environment in which fraternities operate by guiding internal relations initiatives for the NIC. In this role, s/he
- manages all web site, digital and social media outreach to further develop and extend the reach and brand of the NIC. Working with an established digital media organization, the director actively gathers and posts content, including images, texts, blogs, videos, and links to external media and content of interest and benefit to NIC members. The director engages NIC members in updating relevant online data, and in providing illustration and content of benefit and interest to the entire fraternity community.
- plans and implements all content and logistics of the NIC Annual Meeting, a gathering of several hundred fraternity executives, staff and student members and delegates normally held in Washington D.C. Orchestration of the event includes scheduling speakers, securing sponsors, agenda planning and facilitation, program/material design and creation, and leadership of all on-site multiple meeting implementation. Successful facilitation of the annual event requires great attention to detail, vision and a proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- manages the ongoing development of the NIC's Interfraternity and Online Directory, requiring management of independent contractors. Candidate must have comfort with database management.
- oversees the ongoing expansion of the NIC's Associate Member Program, an initiative that seeks to support vendors of the Fraternal community by providing access to NIC members and incorporate corporate sponsorship into NIC programming.
- facilitates a number of educational programs for the NIC such as UIFI (Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute), Futures Quest, IMPACT, and other targeted offerings.
Applicants should have an active social media presence, with the desire and experience to manage this for the NIC. S/he should have the experience and ability to continue to position and expand the brand of the NIC, along with a proven track record for excellent and effective communication skills. These are required for working with a variety of constituents and stakeholders. The candidate's writing abilities must be highly honed and demonstrable.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic team leader, with the ability to influence the vision and direction of the organization. The director will join and work collaboratively with a highly energized and committed staff, bringing a strong and demonstrated work ethic and commitment to working on behalf of the fraternity industry. An awareness of the industry's standards and dynamics is expected. The successful candidate will travel extensively throughout the year, including on weekends.
A Bachelors degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a very competitive benefits package. Membership in a fraternal organization is not required; however, a commitment to the ideals and purpose of fraternities is expected. Starting date is flexible; however, the NIC seeks to have the successful candidate on staff as soon as possible.
