Apply Now to Facilitate or Intern at the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute
The NIC is now accepting applications for Facilitators and Interns for the 2011 Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute. Facilitating at UIFI is a unique opportunity to work with undergraduate students from across North America as they work to develop the skills, awareness, and motivation necessary to elevate their chapter, council, or community. Facilitators at UIFI play a critical role in educating and challenging participants to lead with courage and be more committed to the values of their fraternal organizations. Facilitators will lead a group of 10-12 participants through several activities and lessons.
Interns help coordinate the logistics and educational components of the institute. Interns must be current undergraduates and have previously attended UIFI.
UIFI is the premier interfraternal leadership institute for undergraduate students. In 2010, 100% of participants indicated that they would recommend UIFI to a peer, and 99% of participants indicated that they are a better leader because of UIFI. We hope that you and would consider joining us as a facilitator this summer one of 13 total sessions that will be held in Bloomington, IN.

The Centennial Founders Day of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Congratulations to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on today's occasion of its Centennial Anniversary.
Every Founders Day is important and meaningful. The 100th anniversary is the same, only magnified. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has thoughtfully planned for its Centennial to celebrate the occasion with its members, families, and friends. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi traveled to Indiana University where they were founded today. Members of the fraternity traveled to areas of significance to their founders in Indianapolis. To many, the thought of sustaining an organization through a hundred years may have been impossible to imagine. Certainly the Founders would have never imagined that they would become a Trending Topic on Twitter on this day. That is part of the beauty of fraternity. Many things have drastically changed during the past 100 years but the value of fraternity remains just as strong and relevant today.
Milestones such as this 100th anniversary give us cause to reflect, reconnect and rejoice. We remember the wonderful interfraternal leaders of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. such as Hilary "Hip" Holloway, who became the first African American to serve the Conference as President.
The fraternity will end the official celebration with its Centennial Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, July 5-10, 2011. With more than 35,000 members, families, and friends that are expected to attend, this will certainly be an event worthy of the Interfraternal Super Bowl of 2011.
