NIC Resolution
Resolution on Priorities and Services
WHEREAS, the purpose of the North-American Interfraternity Conference shall be to promote the well-being of its member fraternities by providing such services to them as the House of Delegates may determine, these services to inclll;de, but not be limited to, the promotion of cooperative action in dealing with fraternity matters of a mutual concern, research in areas of fraternal operations and procedures, fact-finding and data- gathering, and the dissemination of such data to the member fraternities. Conference action shall not in any way abrogate the right of its member fraternities to self- detelmination.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Delegates has determined that the North-American Interfraternity Conference Board of Directors shall have as their priority:
- The development of a dynamic strategic plan that promotes the purpose and values of the North-American Interfraternity Conference, to include, but not limited to:
- The development and implementation of an aggressive, proactive public relations program.
- The development of a plan and implementation s-chedule that promotes and significantly increases the number of men joining fraternities.
- The development of programs that support the recruitment and education of national and local alumni volunteers.
- A strong professional response, coordinated by the executive vice president of the conference, from representatives of the North-American Interfraternity Conference on core issues causing campuses to consider deferred recruitment plans, open expansion, or other issues relating to Freedom of Speech and Association.
- The financial stability of the North-American Interfraternity Conference.
- AND FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Delegates review annually a report from the Executive Vice President on all member services and programs that support the North-American Interfraternity Conference's strategic plan.
This resolution was approved by the NIC House of Delegates in December 1999.
