NIC Resolution

Resolution Regarding the NIC Annual Meeting

WHEREAS, on December 3, 1998, the House of Delegates of the North-American Interfraternity Conference discussed the continuation of the National Interfraternity Conference/Association of Fraternity Advisors Annual Meetings as they presently exist, and

WHEREAS , the House of Delegates wishes to see a relationship that continues to preserve the integrity of both organizations and the considerable advantages of cooperation as has been the case since the Association of Fraternity Advisors began with NIC sponsorship in 1976, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED , that the House of Delegates directs that the President of the North-American Interfraternity Conference appoint a task force comprised of member fraternity representatives to study the NIC/AFA meeting partnership; such task force to consider specifically whether the current Annual Meeting structure should continue, be separate or overlap, or such other meeting options as the task force deems appropriate, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the task force conduct its deliberations in consultation with all affected parties, in particular, without limitation the Association of Fraternity Advisors with specific reference to impact on executed hotel contracts, economics, inter-relationships, programming, scheduling, and any other considerations it chooses to address, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the task force report its findings and recommendations to the 1999 meeting of the House of Delegates.
